Based on the introduction given, define "frenemy" in your own words.

A frenemy can be seen as a person who disguise to be a friend, whereas in the actual sense, his an enemy. A frenemy will laugh with you in your face and mock you at your back.

Attributes of a Frenemy

These are some of the attributes of a Frenemy.

• Jealousy
  This one of the features of a Frenemy. They're usually envious of your wins and achievements.

• Unhealthy competition
  They usually see themselves in competition with you, they would want to have everything you have.

• Gatekeeping Information
  They always hoard information about anything they feel will benefit you.

• Gossiping
  They would always talk negative things about you behind your back.

• Unsupportive
  Frenemies won't be there for you when you need them, them won't support your business or brand.

• Betrayal
  They're also Betrayals, they would tell people your secrets.

Yes, I have encountered a Frenemy. So I meet this girl when I was still in University, we were in the same Hostel in our first year and that was what made us to click. Any day I finished preparing for Lectures, I will come to her room and wait for her until she is done and we would go together. But anytime she finishes first, she would leave me behind and tell me that she doesn't like sitting at the back. She exhibited so many Character but I overlooked it. What made me to cut ties with her was this. During one of our Exams, it was raining and I was already at the Exam Venue and she called me to help her come to one Junction with Umbrella and pick her up. On my way to the Junction, I lost my bracelet and after the Exams I looked everywhere for it and couldn't find it. This girl left immediately after the Exams and till date she didn't ask me if I saw the Bracelet.

How can one guard ourselves against frenemies early enough before they harm us.

• Pay attention to your Instincts
  If you constantly feels off or uncomfortable about someone, don't dismiss it.

• Set boundaries
  If a person shows all the Signs of a Frenemy, set boundaries, don't let them know your plans and movement. Avoid doing so many favours for them.

Who is a true friend and how can you identify one?

A true friend shows the following qualities.

• Trustworthy and Loyalty
  They have your back, keep your secret and stand by you during tough seasons.

• Celebrate your wins
  They're genuinely happy for you, and always celebrate your wins and achievements.

• Honest
  They will always tell you the truth even when you're wrong.

• Supportive
  They're always there when you need them, they support your business and brand.

• Acceptance
  They accept you for who you are, they don't make you feel less of yourself.
