Fairly Used or Brand New Items? Which would you rather go for!

Introduction

Distinguished it's good to know that In life, we are constantly making choices no matter it outcome. Some may be big, while some may be small, and all carries meaning. One such so frequent decision we face I. life is whether to buy a fairly used item or to spend more on a brand new product.

The "dilemma" is often strive or driven by our pockets, our preferences, and sometimes, by our pure instinct. But I admit that beyond money, there’s something more deeply human about choosing what we can afford without really compromising our peace of mind. I’ve indeed walked this path too and most often, and so today I’m thrilled to share my own thoughts and story on this very journey.

What Do You Understand by Both Terms (Fairly Used / Brand New Product)?

To the best of knowledge, a fairly used item, which is otherwise known to be a second-hand or pre-owned is a product that somehow has been previously owned or used by someone else but it still remains in good and usable condition. Though It may show minor signs of usage but not withstanding, can function perfectly if well maintained. Often time, a fairly used products come at a reduced prices and are found in various markets or probably through trusted agents.

• On the other hand here, a brand new product is certainly a fresh product from the manufacturer, it's unused yet and in its original packaging. It do offers that unique feeling of being the very first timer or user, with pleasing warranties, full quality assurance, and the promise of a long-term durabilityat a price, of course very notable.

Have You Ever Found Yourself Struggling to Make This Decision?

Ouh Yes. Just like many others out there, I have often paused and try weighed my options between going for a new or a fairly used item. This very decision usually comes when a brand new prices are far above the budget, forcing one/myself to consider whether the quality and the safety of a used product can still satisfy the need desire. But then my mind do wanders to facts like what if the item is faulty? What if it was a stolen one? These are Indeed a real concerns that demand real answers to it. In such moments, I only consider factors like it's durability, the true source of the product, the condition, and my own financial stability.

Why Did You Go for a Fairly Used or Brand New Item After Careful Considerations?

The Exact Wall Fan I wanted

This is how I'll take this, I'll be sharing my most recent encounter.
Just recently, I did faced this choice. I needed a wall fan in my room specifically, an OX Wall Fan because my room is small and mostly hot. While I'm paying Nepa bill each month, what's the need of my electricity 💡 if I don't consume my watt charges to the fullest. I visited a store to try price a brand new version of wall fan and I was shocked 😳 for the cost being between ₦37,000 to ₦42,000. That was clearly above my current budget as a student.

• After a very good thoughtful comparison, I then checked out a fairly used version. To my greatest surprise, it was tagged at ₦27,000, and so after locating the agent and negotiating on the price properly, I got it for ₦19,000 with a receipt and of course a thorough inspection included. The very most comforting part was that "The product was sold to me by a trusted agent", known popularly for sourcing original fairly used items and then reselling them with transparency. This made the deal to feel more secure and legitimate after all.

Was There Any Regret for the Choice You Made?

Not even in the slightest. It’s been over two months now I used it, and my fan is indeed working flawlessly, just like a brand new one does. It still account for it's high-speed rotation that seems to blow me to freezes, it consumes less electricity, and of course gives me daily comfort. Sometimes, it’s definitely not about being the “first user,” but I do consider too about making a smart decisions that bring lasting satisfaction.

Conclusion

In this very age of economic reality, mostly especially in Nigeria, making a wise choices is more essential. A Fairly used items, when it's carefully selected and bought from a trusted sources which won't serve you problems, can serve just as well as the new one, sometimes even better than a brand new ones because the cost is manageable. But in all, it all depends on your needs, budget, and definitely the level of trust you have in the source. So to all buyers out there, please may your choices bring you value, peace, and joy with no pain at the end.
