Sonic the Hedgehog 3: still good entertainment
The Sonic franchise marked a new era of video game adaptations: they don't have to suck! #1 was good, #2 was dissapointing but had good moments, and 3 was better than 2.
After being held in hibernation (?) for over 50 years, Shadow the Hedgehog is set free by someone who hacked the computers keeping him in his sate (with an obvious signature). GUN therefore seeks Sonic and his gang to lend a hand, but they are quickly beaten. Meanwhile, Robotnik learns he has a grandpa (and "they" become meta for a moment), and they team up for another devious plan.
Although I know nothing about the Sonic lure past Sonic and Knuckles, I enjoyed the movie. This mysterious Shadow has an interesting backstory and will indeed learn that "Hate leads to suffering." Sonic, with his funny one-liners, will also learn about that same thought, and also that vengeance is not the best motive.
Only major down side: the main male character, "Donut Lors", is a doofus like so many like him.
But if you like Sonic, you will definitely like Sonic 3. It has action, humor and even a few plot twists. And in the credit scene, one of the revelations shows yet another new characters....
Final rating: 4/5
